Warner Robins is the largest city in Houston County Georgia and is often referred to as Georgia’s International City. With Robins Air Force Base situated on the northeast part of town, this community is truly a melting pot of styles and demographics, all with a rich military history and tradition.

It was established in 1821, took the name Warner Robins (after Air Force General Augustine Warner Robins) in 1942, and has seen considerable change and growth over the last nearly 200 years. The cost of living in this city is incredibly reasonable which led Business Week to call it the best place in Georgia to raise a family (two years in a row). It also made CNN Money’s list of best small cities to live in, 2012 (#7). This community is a wonderful place to call !

Military Heritage – The Warner Robins motto “Every Day in Middle Georgia is Armed Forces Appreciation Day” (EDIMGIAFAD) gives you an understanding just how important the military is and has been to this community over the decades. In 1940, when the war department decided to build an air depot in the south, this area was chosen, with beginning almost immediately on the 3,000+ allotted acres.

Over the years, Robins Air Force Base as grown in stature, mission, and size, with the city of Warner Robins following suit. With over 25K personnel employed on the base, its 35 square miles are covered with a variety of Department of Defense activities each day. It is difficult to go anywhere in the county without knowing someone who works at or retired from the base.

Activities Abound – Surprisingly, there is quite a few varied activities in the local area to pique a wide variety of consumer interests. The 2nd largest Museum of Aviation in the nation is here with an incredible array of military related artifacts, history information, and fun events and activities for the entire family to enjoy. This area also has its own playhouse theatre, with 5 new productions held each year.

For those who like adventure you can try out Rigby’s Entertainment Complex and enjoy one or several of the fun activities they have available. For those who like to venture out, Macon is less than 30 miles away, Atlanta is only 100 miles north, and the Florida border is only 2.5 hours south. If outdoor sports are your thing, you can always go watch some of our top quality football, baseball, and softball teams. In fact, Warner Robins is the only city in the U.S. that can proudly boast of winning both the boys Little League World Series (2007) and the girls Little League Softball World Series (2009 & 2010).
