Former Zillow exec Nick Bailey is taking the reins of franchise giant Century 21 as its new president and chief executive officer.

Bailey has more than 20 years of experience in the estate industry in franchising, brokerage, and management technology, and as a licensed broker. Bailey first became licensed in real estate at age 21, and became a broker shortly after. He says from a young age he learned “that the value of an is not in the data but the professional service, knowledge, and negotiation skills he or she brings to the table.”

“My challenge is to build this company to its greatest market potential by inspiring, interacting, and working collaboratively with the people inside and outside this organization and translating this ongoing momentum into additional share for Century 21 agents,” Bailey says.

Bailey served 11 years at RE/MAX world headquarters, credited with helping to drive agent growth and retention. He joined Zillow in 2012, and during his tenure there served as vice president of broker relationships. He provided online technology and solutions to real estate professionals and sought to drive expansion of products and services through partnerships and business .

“Nick’s appointment signals the beginning of a new era at Century 21,” John Peyton, president and CEO of the Realogy Franchise Group, said in a statement. “We are an agent-centric company, and with Nick’s analytical understanding of the needs and wants of today’s digital consumers, he will immediately begin fostering a culture of developing and retaining high-performing talent within C21.”

Century 21 is comprised of about 7,450 franchised broker offices over 79 countries worldwide. It boasts more than 115,000 independent sales professionals.
