However, stone, rock, or other stone materials are the most commonly used secondary siding material on new single-family homes.<\/p>\n<p>The popularity of exterior finishes can vary geographically. For example, vinyl is the most popular choice in the Middle Atlantic and New England regions, while stucco was the top siding choice in the Pacific and Mountain divisions.
