{"id":6685,"date":"2017-10-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-10-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-ease-this-week\/"},"modified":"2017-10-20T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-10-20T00:00:00","slug":"mortgage-rates-ease-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-ease-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Mortgage Rates Ease This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"37.118055555556\">\n<!--\n\n<pre>-->  <\/p>\n<div property=\"dc:description\" readability=\"19.796296296296\"><!--paging_filter--><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/realtormag.realtor.org\/sites\/realtormag.realtor.org\/files\/rmo_files\/images\/2017_oct\/rates102017.png\" style=\"width: 620px; height: 252px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Borrowers may be able to lock in lower interest rates this week, as the 30-year fixed-rate <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-preapproval-guide-for-home-buyers\/\">mortgage<\/a> dips to a 3.88 percent average.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRates came down slightly this week, ending a brief two-week streak of increases,\u201d says Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac\u2019s chief economist. \u201cThe 10-year Treasury yield dipped 6 basis points, while the 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell 3 basis points to 3.88 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Freddie\u00a0 Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates for the week ending Oct. 19:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30-year fixed-rate mortgages:<\/strong> averaged 3.88 percent, with an average 0.5 point, falling from last week\u2019s 3.91 percent average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.52 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15-year fixed-rate mortgages:<\/strong> averaged 3.19 percent, with an average 0.5 point, dropping from last week\u2019s 3.21 percent average. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.79 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages: <\/strong>averaged 3.17 percent, with an average 0.4 point, rising from last week\u2019s 3.16 percent average.
