When it comes to styling a home for sale<\/a>, the kitchen\u00a0and dining areas are often forgotten or overlooked.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Many vendors are often left wondering \u2018how do you possibly style a kitchen?\u2019<\/p>\n It may seem tricky, especially when there\u2019s no furniture<\/a> to move in the kitchen and the dining room generally has just one table and some chairs.<\/p>\n Expert Cat Brown says you don\u2019t have to spend a fortune styling your home. Picture: Simplify Me<\/p>\n<\/div>\n There are a few simple tricks such as where you place certain objects that can make a huge difference, says\u00a0Cat Brown,\u00a0<\/span>ex-real estate agent and founder of staging company\u00a0<\/span>Simplify Me<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n Last week Brown provided some great tips on\u00a0styling a lounge room, this week she\u2019s advising sellers on how best to present a kitchen and dining room.<\/p>\n Although you may not have too many options as to\u00a0where<\/em>\u00a0your dining table goes, you can always choose the shape and size of the table itself.<\/p>\n Remove any chairs from the end of your dining room table to make\u00a0the space look bigger. Picture: Getty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Brown says that when styling for sale the size of the table should relate to\u00a0the number of bedrooms.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you have a two-bedroom house you don\u2019t need an eight-seater dining table,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n If the table is too large, one option is to change it over for a smaller one that will make the room look spacious.<\/p>\n Modern chairs can make almost any table look trendy. Picture: iStock.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you wish to keep your table, you can still change the look.<\/p>\n One of the best ways to make your table look fresh and trendy is to swap old chairs for more modern ones.<\/p>\n You may be surprised by how effective this small change can be when it comes to the overall look of this room.<\/p>\n Finish it off by adding a centrepiece to the table.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the things you need to consider is whether you are keeping your dining setting when you move,\u201d Brown says. Picture: Getty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n While there is no furniture to be moved around in the kitchen, the golden rule is to \u2018declutter and depersonalise\u2019 it.<\/p>\n And this isn\u2019t just true for the kitchen but the whole home, including the dining.<\/p>\n \u201cCut down any excess items like any photographs or trinkets on your bookshelves,\u201d Brown says.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen selling we recommend you depersonalise it to a certain extent so your potential buyers can see themselves in there.\u201d<\/p>\n Take everything off the fridge. Picture: Kate Griffen<\/p>\n<\/div>\n One way to declutter the kitchen is to remove unnecessary appliances from bench tops and remove all notices and pictures from the fridge door.<\/p>\n \u201cPack down the kitchen appliances and take all magnets and notices off the fridge to create a seamless clutter-free space,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n This will allow for a clean and spacious feel that will be more appealing to potential buyers.<\/p>\n
