Practitioner George Graham says he believes \u201chaving great food options\u201d can be an advantage in attracting buyers to an urban location. Graham is quick to tell his buyers the home\u2019s proximity to great shopping, food, and restaurants.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Agents] not only are selling a house, but they\u2019re also selling a community,\u201d Alexander Boylan, a Minneapolis-based real estate agent<\/a>, told Credit.com. He also says he\u2019ll advertise nearby restaurants as a selling point for a home because it shows the walkability of a neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Agents also are mentioning the proximity to five-star restaurants during open houses<\/a> and in their listing<\/a> descriptions. Elizabeth Weintraub, a seller\u2019s agent in Sacramento, Calif., is quick to mention her favorite local restaurants on her real estate blog. In a recent post about a Mexican restaurant near one of her listings, she wrote: \u201cThe location is perfect. Imagine living a half-block away from William Land Park. It is also close to Starbucks and a terrific Mexican restaurant with outdoor dining, Dali\u2019s Kitchen. \u2026 The point is, if I lived at this home with a view of William Land Park, I would be dining almost nightly at Dali\u2019s Kitchen.”<\/p>\n

Some buyer\u2019s agents are even meeting up with clients at restaurants to show off the area. \u201cSometimes, when I have a first-time client meeting and I know they want to be in a certain area, we\u2019ll meet at the coffee shop or the local restaurant, and I\u2019ll tell them, \u2018This is a part of the community,\u2019\u201d says Boylan. \u201cThat is a selling point for the community they want to be in.\u201d<\/p>\n
