{"id":5576,"date":"2017-08-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-04T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-arent-budging\/"},"modified":"2017-08-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-08-04T00:00:00","slug":"mortgage-rates-arent-budging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-arent-budging\/","title":{"rendered":"Mortgage Rates Aren\u2019t Budging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"37.119815668203\">\n<!--\n\n<pre>-->  <\/p>\n<div property=\"dc:description\" readability=\"19.797235023041\"><!--paging_filter--><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/realtormag.realtor.org\/sites\/realtormag.realtor.org\/files\/rmo_files\/images\/2017_aug\/rates080417.png\" style=\"width: 620px; height: 252px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-preapproval-guide-for-home-buyers\/\">Mortgage<\/a> rates have mostly held steady the past few weeks, with the 30-year fixed-rate <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/fast-flexible-real-estate-loans-usa\/\">loan<\/a> still averaging below 4 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 10-year Treasury yield was relatively flat this week, as was the 30-year mortgage rate, which rose 1 basis point to 3.93 percent,\u201d says Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac\u2019s chief economist. \u201cDespite a strong advance estimate for second-quarter GDP, markets are erring on the side of caution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates for the week ending Aug. 3:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30-year fixed-rate mortgages:<\/strong> averaged 3.93 percent, with an average 0.5 point, rising from a 3.92 percent average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.43 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15-year fixed-rate mortgages: <\/strong>averaged 3.18 percent, with an average 0.5 point, dropping from last week\u2019s 3.20 percent average. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.74 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages:<\/strong> averaged 3.15 percent, with an average 0.5 point, falling from last week\u2019s 3.18 percent average.
