The Director General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA),\u00a0Chief Clement Ofuani has disclosed\u00a0that there is currently no master plan for Delta State Capital Territory, Asaba.<\/p>\n

Ofuani, who spoke at a media interaction with journalists in Asaba said what the agency have is a layout prepared by the first Military Administrator, Air Commodore Luke Ochulor.<\/p>\n

He said that the agency was a creation of law by the Delta State House of Assembly, being the first legislation sent by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration in fulfillment of his campaign promises.<\/p>\n

The director general said that whole idea was to facilitate transformation and the realisation of the dream of all Deltans for a befitting state capital that they will be proud to call their own.<\/p>\n

Ofuani, however, noted that the process of procuring a master plan was on, however, there was a development plan in place for the capital territory since 1991, which made provisions for the location of some of the structures on ground like the Central Bank, House of Assembly and others.<\/p>\n

The director general said though in 2006, a contract was awarded for the development of a master plan for the State Capital Territory, work commenced and got up to the draft stage but it was never finalized and it was not legislated.<\/p>\n

Ofuani said the agency was working with the legislators to fashion out laws in line with developed cities to address challenges of sanitation and environmental control on our highways including issues of noise pollution.<\/p>\n
