{"id":5303,"date":"2017-07-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-14T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-push-above-4-average\/"},"modified":"2017-07-14T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-07-14T00:00:00","slug":"mortgage-rates-push-above-4-average","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-push-above-4-average\/","title":{"rendered":"Mortgage Rates Push Above 4% Average"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"36.115789473684\">\n<!--\n\n<pre>-->  <\/p>\n<div property=\"dc:description\" readability=\"17.810526315789\"><!--paging_filter--><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/realtormag.realtor.org\/sites\/realtormag.realtor.org\/files\/rmo_files\/images\/2017_jul\/rates071417.png\" style=\"width: 620px; height: 252px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Average <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-preapproval-guide-for-home-buyers\/\">mortgage<\/a> rates are moving up, posting increases for the second consecutive week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter fully absorbing the sharp increases in Treasury yields over the past couple of weeks, the 30-year mortgage rate has cleared the psychologically important 4 percent mark for the first time since May,\u201d says Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac\u2019s chief economist.<\/p>\n<p>Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates for the week ending July 13:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30-year fixed-rate mortgages <\/strong>averaged 4.03 percent, with an average 0.5 point, increasing from last week\u2019s 3.96 percent average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.42 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15-year fixed-rate mortgages <\/strong>averaged 3.29 percent, with an average 0.5 point, increasing from last week\u2019s 3.22 percent average. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.72 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages<\/strong> averaged 3.28 percent, with an average 0.5 point, rising from last week\u2019s 3.21 percent average.
