{"id":4809,"date":"2017-06-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/a-new-2017-low-struck-with-mortgage-rates\/"},"modified":"2017-06-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-06-02T00:00:00","slug":"a-new-2017-low-struck-with-mortgage-rates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/a-new-2017-low-struck-with-mortgage-rates\/","title":{"rendered":"A New 2017 Low Struck with Mortgage Rates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"39.526855123675\">\n<!--\n\n<pre>-->  <\/p>\n<div property=\"dc:description\" readability=\"25.375265017668\"><!--paging_filter--><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/realtormag.realtor.org\/sites\/realtormag.realtor.org\/files\/rmo_files\/images\/2017_jun\/rates060117.png\" style=\"width: 620px; height: 252px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The 30-year fixed-rate <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-preapproval-guide-for-home-buyers\/\">mortgage<\/a> moved lower for the third consecutive week and set a new low for the year, Freddie Mac reports.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In a short week following Memorial Day, the 10-year Treasury yield fell 4 basis points,\u201d says Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac\u2019s chief economist. \u201cThe 30-year mortgage rate remained relatively flat, falling 1 basis point to 3.94 percent and once again hitting a new 2017 low.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates for the week ending June 1:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30-year fixed-rate mortgages<\/strong> averaged 3.94 percent, with an average 0.5 point, dropping from last week\u2019s 3.95 percent average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.66 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15-year fixed-rate mortgages <\/strong>averaged 3.19 percent, with an average 0.5 point, holding the same average as last week. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.92 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages<\/strong> averaged 3.11 percent, with an average 0.5 point, rising from last week\u2019s 3.07 percent average. A year ago, 5-year ARMs averaged 2.88 percent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With this latest jobs report out of the way, the runway is now clear for the Federal Reserve to raise benchmark interest rates when it meets June 13 and 14.
