Now, more than 13.7 million homes\u2014or about a quarter of all U.S. residential properties\u2014fall within that category, which means the combined <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/get-real-estate-loan-for-real-estate-investors\"   title=\"loan\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">loan<\/a> amount secured by the property is 50 percent or less than its estimated market price.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote readability=\"7.882005899705\">\n<p><strong>Profile of Equity-Rich Properties<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>According to ATTOM Data Solutions, the following types of properties are considered equity-rich:<\/p>\n\n<ul><li>15.4 percent of properties valued up to $100,000; 20.8 percent valued between $100,000 and $300,000; 29.5 percent valued between $300,000 and $750,000; and 7 percent valued at more than $750,000.<\/li>\n\t<li>7 percent of non\u2013owner-occupied (investment) properties with a <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-preapproval-guide-for-home-buyers\/\">mortgage<\/a> were equity rich at the end of the first quarter of 2017 compared to 23.6 percent of owner-occupied properties.<\/li>\n\t<li>4 percent of properties located in a high-risk flood zone were equity rich, compared to 13 percent of those not located in a high-risk flood zone.<\/li>\n<\/ul><p><em>Source: RealtyTrac<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>The report notes the following states had the highest share of equity-rich properties in the first quarter:<\/p>\n\n<ol><li>Hawaii: 38.4%<\/li>\n\t<li>California: 35.8%<\/li>\n\t<li>New York: 34.6%<\/li>\n\t<li>Vermont: 32.8%<\/li>\n\t<li>Oregon: 31.3%<\/li>\n<\/ol><p>On a city level, the metros with populations of at least 500,000 that posted the highest share of equity-rich properties are:<\/p>\n\n<ul><li>San Jose, Calif.: 51.3%<\/li>\n\t<li>San Francisco.: 46.6%<\/li>\n\t<li>Honolulu: 39.9%<\/li>\n\t<li>Los Angeles: 39.1%<\/li>\n\t<li>Pittsburgh: 34.2%<\/li>\n\t<li>San Diego: 33.6%<\/li>\n\t<li>Portland, Ore.: 33.6%<\/li>\n\t<li>Austin, Texas: 32.1%<\/li>\n\t<li>Seattle: 32.1%<\/li>\n\t<li>New York: 32%<\/li>\n<\/ul><p><em>Source: RealtyTrac<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n  \n    \n<\/pre>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<br \/>[ad_2]\n<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/DailyRealEstateNews\/~3\/rckyhzoLKNk\/14m-more-homeowners-regain-equity\"> link <\/a>\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The number of U.S. properties considered &#8220;equity rich&#8221;
