{"id":4201,"date":"2017-05-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-05T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-barely-move-this-week\/"},"modified":"2017-05-05T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-05-05T00:00:00","slug":"mortgage-rates-barely-move-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-barely-move-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Mortgage Rates Barely Move This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"37.148337595908\">\n<!--\n\n<pre>-->  <\/p>\n<div property=\"dc:description\" readability=\"19.812446717818\"><!--paging_filter--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-preapproval-guide-for-home-buyers\/\">Mortgage<\/a> rates were mostly in a holding pattern this week, which may have been welcome news to borrowers after last week\u2019s uptick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 10-year Treasury yield remained relatively flat this week, as did the 30-year mortgage rate, which fell 1 basis point to 4.02 percent,\u201d says Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac\u2019s chief economist. \u201cMarkets have been erring on the side of caution following a weak advance estimate for first-quarter GDP and the FOMC\u2019s broadly expected decision to leave rates unchanged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates for the week ending May 4:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30-year fixed-rate mortgages<\/strong> averaged 4.02 percent, with an average 0.5 point, falling slightly from last week\u2019s 4.03 percent average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.61 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15-year fixed-rate mortgages<\/strong> averaged 3.27 percent, with an average 0.5 point, the same average as last week. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.86 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages<\/strong> averaged 3.13 percent, with an average 0.5 point, rising from last week\u2019s 3.12 percent average.
