These are older homes that may display decades-old decor and have not been refurbished or updated. Instead, they\u2019ve been meticulously maintained in their original style.<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"1.2222222222222\">\n<p><strong>Read more<\/strong>: <span class=\"l\">Bedroom Designs That Buyers Loathe<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Some home shoppers say they\u2019re drawn to these homes for the quality construction, distinctive design, and nostalgia, <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe number of people looking for time-capsules <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/really-nice-property-for-sale-in-nigeria\/\">houses<\/a> [has], I\u2019ll go out on a limb and say, exploded,\u201d says Pam Kueber, who maintains a list of time-capsule homes on her remodeling blog, RetroRenovation.com.<\/p>\n<p>Some <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/property-center-nigeria\/\">real estate<\/a> professionals are even specializing in midcentury or unremodeled homes.<\/p>\n<p>Ed Murchison with Virginia Cook, REALTORS\u00ae, in Dallas says that over the past five years he\u2019s noticed more young home shoppers seeking Midcentury Modern homes, and they\u2019re willing to pay a premium to get them, too. AMC\u2019s \u201cMad Men\u201d TV show may have been inspired buyers to appreciate 1960s design.<\/p>\n<p>So that means popcorn ceilings, shag carpeting, peach bathroom <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/tile-roofing-vs-shingles-which-is-the-better-choice-for-your-home\/\">tiles<\/a>, and baby-blue cabinets are hardly a turnoff to some select home shoppers. Indeed, Robin Miller was drawn to a home with such features that was built in the early 1960s in Weaverville, Calif. She purchased the home and plans to leave the retro design intact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s almost like the less you do, the better because it almost distracts from the architecture that\u2019s already there,\u201d Miller told <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Many time-capsule homes are from the post\u2013World War II <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/sell-your-home-online-fast\/\">housing<\/a> boom. However, they are in short supply: Many of these homes have since been remodeled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe may be seeing the last era of true time-capsule houses in America,\u201d Kueber says.<\/p>\n<p>Real estate professionals say it\u2019s not always smart to renovate a time-capsule home if you have one as your <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/nigeria-property-center\/\">listing<\/a>. There could be a niche audience out there looking for it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce you remodel a house out of its time period, you have to perpetually remodel every 10 years to keep up with what\u2019s fashionable,\u201d says Alyssa Starelli with Living Room Realty in Portland, Ore. \u201cBut if you maintain it in the period it was, it always suits the house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For buyers who do find a time capsule home, they should also be vigilant about the condition of the home since it is older.
