Every salesperson has a list of challenges, many involving unusual properties. If you work the commercial side, you may already have faced some properties with ideas that perhaps seemed like a good idea at the time. But this one may push the envelope: A picnic basket\u2013shaped building outside Columbus, Ohio, is entering foreclosure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The seven-story steel building, measuring in at 180,000 square feet, opened in 1997 to house the Longaberger Company, which makes handcrafted baskets. A 30,000-square-foot atrium with skylights creates a park-like ambiance for workers and visitors. While the main structure’s seven stories top out at 102 feet, the picnic-basket handles bring the building’s total height to 196 feet.<\/p>\n

Longaberger at one point peaked at sales of $1 billion, but endured a down spell and in 2015 was acquired by Dallas-based holding company JRJR Networks. Reports say property taxes have been unpaid since November 2014, with a current bill of over $700,000. The asking price for the building is $5 million\u2014but don’t get carried away.<\/p>\n
