{"id":2807,"date":"2017-03-31T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-got-cheaper-this-week\/"},"modified":"2017-03-31T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-03-31T00:00:00","slug":"mortgage-rates-got-cheaper-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-rates-got-cheaper-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Mortgage Rates Got Cheaper This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"37.090773809524\">\n<!--\n\n<pre>-->  <\/p>\n<div property=\"dc:description\" readability=\"19.781746031746\"><!--paging_filter--><\/p>\n<p>For the second consecutive week, average <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/mortgage-preapproval-guide-for-home-buyers\/\">mortgage<\/a> rates fell, lowering the borrowing costs of buyers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The 10-year Treasury yield remained relatively flat this week,\u201d says Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac\u2019s chief economist. \u201cThe 30-year mortgage rate fell 9 basis points to 4.14 percent, another significant week-over-week decline.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates for the week ending March 30:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30-year fixed-rate mortgages <\/strong>averaged 4.14 percent, with an average 0.5 point, falling from last week\u2019s 4.23 percent average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.71 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15-year fixed-rate mortgages <\/strong>averaged 3.39 percent, with an average 0.4 point, falling from last week\u2019s 3.44 percent average. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.98 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages <\/strong>averaged 3.18 percent, with an average 0.4 point, falling from last week\u2019s 3.24 percent average.
