Commissioner for Water Resources, Sulieman Aliyu Lere said the sum include $101 million from African Development Bank (AFDB) and $ 81 million from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Realising the importance of safe water on health and productivity of individuals in the state, Kaduna State Government has borrowed a total of sum of $182 million to finance key water projects in the state.<\/p>\n

Commissioner for Water Resources, Sulieman Aliyu Lere said the sum include $101 million from African Development Bank (AFDB) and $ 81 million from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).<\/p>\n

He stressed that the state before now was funding<\/a> the water projects from location and taxes by resorted to borrowing because millions of people living in the state lacked access to safe water supply.<\/p>\n

Lere, an engineer also informed that the state has recently revised its water supply and sanitation policy in order to reposition the water sector.<\/p>\n

He further lamented the activities of pipeline vandals in the state and urged residents to safeguard water projects in their areas as well as report any leakage or broken pipe when spotted.<\/p>\n
