This marks the greatest week-over-week decline for the 30-year mortgage rate in over two months, a stark contrast from last week&#8217;s jump following the FOMC announcement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates for the week ending March 23:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30-year fixed-rate mortgages:<\/strong> averaged 4.23 percent, with an average 0.5 point, falling from last week\u2019s 4.30 percent average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.71 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15-year fixed-rate mortgages: <\/strong>averaged 3.44 percent, with an average 0.5 point, dropping from last week\u2019s 3.50 percent average. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.96 percent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages: <\/strong>averaged 3.24 percent, with an average 0.4 point, dropping from a 3.28 percent average last week.
