From Amazon\u2019s Echo to Google\u2019s Home, more homeowners are taking control over their homes, using their voice to speak commands to their home\u2019s appliances.<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"1.2452830188679\">\n<p><strong>Read more<\/strong>: <span class=\"l\">&#8216;Empowered&#8217; Appliances Link Home, Internet<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But some manufacturers are starting to question whether the appeal in the smart-home arena is really voice-controlled or possibly text-controlled.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg has been working on Jarvis, his own voice-controlled AI home automation system, and said he preferred communicating by text to his home than by voice. \u201cIt feels less disturbing to people around me,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Several major appliance makers are experimenting with text messages to appliances, everything from texts like \u201cstart the coffee machine\u201d to \u201cpreheat the oven to 200 degrees at 6:30 p.m.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Think of it as a universal translator between the languages that machines speak &#8230; and us humans,&#8221; said Toby Ruckert, CEO of Unified Inbox, which <a href=\"https:\/\/amazingproperty.com.ng\/blog\/tips-for-house-price-negotiation\/\">offers<\/a> a service that can handle text messages to appliances.
