Residents of 1004 Estate, have sacked the executives of House Owners and Residents Association (HOMA), a committee saddled with the maintenance of the facilities in the Estate.<\/p>\n
The Guardian learnt that the decision to sack the executives was reached last Saturday during a meeting at Cluster Club House following concerns over lack of quality service and poor state of infrastructure in the estate.<\/p>\n
According to the residents, apart from lack of quality services leading to decay in infrastructure, the tenure of the current HOMA\u2019s executives had expired since January 30, 2017.<\/p>\n
Other allegations leveled against the committee, includes arbitrary increase in power tariff without consultation; lack of transparency and accountability; bad water supply; and provision of unbefitting children\u2019s playing ground in the estate.<\/p>\n
At the meeting the concerned residents also called for dissolution of the Estate Board Of Trustees (BOT). The residents further inaugurated an eight-man caretaker committee, which will be in office for 60 days before the appointment of new maintenance management.<\/p>\n
Majority of the residents also agreed that the estate was better managed under 1004 estate before now. Efforts by The Guardian to reach members of the sacked executive proved abortive, but a concerned resident, Sola Benson, who confirmed the development said beyond other complaints, the bone of contention was lack of quality service by the sacked executives.<\/p>\n
