One of the world’s leading producers of sanitary ware, bathroom fittings and accessories, Black Pelican Limited, trading as IL Bagno has explained that its inability to localise its product was due to harsh operating environment for manufacturers.
Speaking at the launch of its new franchise called Technogym that offer wellness solutions to homes and offices, the managing director, Black Pelican, Mr. Michael Owolabi, explained that the inability for the Nigeria to have a stable power supply has made importation a cheaper option for investors.
The Technogym known as BPL Wellness is the world leader in the fitness and wellness solutions sector and has equipped over 65,000 wellness centres and 100,000 homes globally. It is estimated that approximately 35 million people use Technogym products every day in over 100 countries
He said that Technogym promotes wellness in every aspect of human life; from organized exercise to staying healthy behind your desk at work. “With our Technogym Ecosystem, we aim to offer wellness solutions to keep people motivated and healthy as we strongly believe that Wellness is an opportunity for governments, companies and individuals.”
He said that there would be opportunities for governments, corporate bodies and individuals to take advantage of wellness products such as treadmills, abdominal crunch, excite climbs, kinesis stations, bikes and multistation walls, among others.
He added that the collaboration between both companies would also offer corporate wellness programme to assist employees to voluntarily improve their health and productivity.
