Confirm your notice period
Avoid paying rent in two places by ensuring you give the proper notice period. This can be found on your lease, or you can contact your landlord or agent direct.
Inform your suppliers
Contact all of your suppliers to ensure they have your new address. Examples of who you may need to contact include your bank(s), your insurance provider, your energy supplier and your internet supplier.

Speak with your insurance provider
If you have contents insurance, you’ll need to notify your insurance provider about your change of address. You should also inform them of any other changes in circumstances, for example if you’ll be walking to work from your new place or if you’ll be parking your car in a garage. These factors may help you save on your car insurance premium.
Forward your mail
The first thing you should do here is to have your mail forwarded while you notify the appropriate parties of your change of address.
Despite your best attempt to notify others about your change of address, the odd letter may still arrive for you at your old rental from time to time. Leave your forwarding address with your landlord or agent so that any incorrectly addressed mail reaches you safely.

Follow the appropriate bond process
Getting your full bond back is a matter of following the correct process as outlined in your lease. This includes giving the appropriate notice, cleaning satisfactorily and repairing any damage that has occurred since you took up residency.
Take final meter readings
Take final meter readings on the day that you move out and promptly notify your suppliers to ensure you aren’t charged for usage once you’re gone.

Take lots of photos
Throughout this entire process, remember to take photos of everything in case there are any disputes after you leave.
