Ogun State governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun

Ogun State Government has praised the state’s Homeowners Charter programme for reducing to the barest minimum the problem of land speculators and other property related fraud in the state.

The Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun disclosed this while presenting Certificates of Occupancy (Cof Os) and other land title documents to a new batch of beneficiaries under the scheme at the Oba’s Complex Auditorium, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

In a statement by the press officer in the Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Passover Adeshina, the governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Otunba Dayo Adeneye, was quoted as saying that his administration has shown commitment by embarking on the bi-monthly presentation of certificates to beneficiaries, indicating that the programme is not a mere political gimmick.

He said: ”It has so far been a success story by putting smiles on the faces of thousands of residents and non-residents. It has reduced to the barest minimum, disputes relating to property ownership, problem of land speculators and property related fraud, “ Amosun said.

Earlier, the Acting Surveyor- General of the State, Ken-Salem Onasosen, congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to sensitise their neighbours, friends and family members about the authenticity of the scheme and the need to cooperate with the government towards delivering the dividends of democracy to citizens.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Sunday Ejiro Kaizer, commended the state government for the good initiative and expressed happiness that they have benefited, as their land title documents have been presented to them.
